{"id":41333,"date":"2019-08-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.businesseventsthailand.com\/newsmedia\/sky-is-the-limit-as-tceb-works-to-stage-thailand-international-airshow\/"},"modified":"2019-08-13T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T17:00:00","slug":"sky-is-the-limit-as-tceb-works-to-stage-thailand-international-airshow","status":"publish","type":"newsmedia","link":"https:\/\/uattceb.reveri.app\/zh-hans\/newsmedia\/sky-is-the-limit-as-tceb-works-to-stage-thailand-international-airshow\/","title":{"rendered":"Sky is the limit as TCEB works to stage \u2018Thailand International Airshow\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify; \">Farnborough International feasibility study and domestic industry hearing showcase the Kingdom&#8217;s aviation potential as regional hub under Thailand 4.0&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) \u2013 Business is looking to stage a Thai edition of the \u2018International Airshow\u2019 as it continues to create business opportunities in 12 key industries under Thailand 4.0 model to attract the world\u2019s most iconic events to the Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">TCEB recently commissioned UK-based Farnborough International to conduct a \u2018Thailand International Airshow feasibility study\u2019 for staging the show at U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport in the Thai government&#8217;s &#8216;Thailand 4.0 &#8211; EEC&#8217; (Eastern Economic Corridor) initiative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mrs. Nichapa Yoswee, TCEB&#8217;s Senior Vice President &#8211; Business said \u201cThe study is now complete, covering the global overview, regional market potential, industry feedback, competitive landscape, Thailand&#8217;s EEC development and the government\u2019s Thailand 4.0 initiative. It also offers recommendations for Thailand to stage the event and economic impacts.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On domestic front, TCEB held industry hearing among stakeholders of the local aviation industry, both in the public and private sector, to identify Thailand\u2019s potential and strength in staging air show and its economic impacts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; \">Besides the feasibility study and domestic industry hearing, TCEB visited Farnborough International Airshow in UK in 2018, Bahrain International Airshow and Paris Air Show in 2019 to get an overview of how to attract major air show events to Thailand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mrs. Nichapa said the action plan to stage Thailand International Airshow enhanced TCEB\u2019s role as \u2018co-creator\u2019 under its Thailand Redefine Your Business Events branding, which aims at generating business opportunities in the 12 industries under Thailand 4.0 economic model.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; \"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/uploads\/editor_files\/20190909-37023322b3.jpg\" style=\"width: 800px;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; \">\u201cAviation is one of the priority sectors behind the country&#8217;s Aerotropolis initiative and MRO hub and it corresponds with the expansion of U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport in the EEC,\u201d Mrs. Nichapa added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2018, Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports handled a total of 634,011 flights, up 5.79% and handled a total of 103,378,371 passengers, up 7.39%. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has listed Thailand among the top ten countries with the highest air traffic volume in the next 20 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To keep up with demand, the Thai government plans to upgrade U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport to establish it as the third main international airport in Thailand. This will help to better facilitate the establishment of a Special Economic Zone in anticipation of EEC expansion.
