The Extension of Emergency Decree and Special Tourist Visa for Long-Stay Visitors<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Extension of Emergency Decree<\/span><\/p>\n

The cabinet of The Royal Thai Government has approved the extension of the nation-wide Emergency Decree <\/span>from 1st October 2020 to 31st October 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Special Tourist Visa for Long-Stay Visitors<\/span><\/p>\n

To support the tourism industry in Thailand, the cabinet approved on 15th September 2020 the Special Tourist Visa (STV) for long-stay visitors. The procedures are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n

    The qualification of the visitor       <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1.1  The long-stay visitor must come from the low-risk countries or territories as specified by the Ministry of Public Health.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1.2  The visitor agrees to comply with the disease control measures stated by the Royal Thai Government and is willing to enter the Alternative State Quarantine for at least 14 days.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1.3  The visitor must exhibit evidence of long-stay residence, which are:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00b7      The receipt from Alternative State Quarantine hotels or hospitals<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00b7      One of the following documents<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. \n

      The receipt from the accommodation after leaving the quarantine<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      The property ownership documents indicating that the property belongs to the visitor or visitor\u2019s family<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      The rental documents, either the condominium or house<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      The payment documents indicating the purchase or hire purchase of a property that can be legally purchased or hire purchased by foreigners<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n


      <\/b><\/p>\n

      1.4 Health and accident insurance policy by Thai insurer, covering the entire stay in Thailand with at least 40,000 Baht for out-patient and 400,000 Baht for in-patient<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. \n

        The visitor must comply with the disease control measures stated by the Ministry of Public Health before submitting for the single-entry STV at the embassy or consulate of Thailand. <\/span>
        <\/span>The required fee is 2,000 Baht for each submission. The STV will be valid for 90 days from the date of entry. The criteria in issuing visa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are applied for STV.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      2. \n

        After 90 days, the STV can be renewed twice, 90 day extension for each, at the Immigration Bureau. The type of visa cannot be changed.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      3. \n

        This is effective from 29th September 2020 to 30th September 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

         <\/span><\/p>\n

        Extension of Residence Visa for Foreigners until 31st October 2020<\/span><\/p>\n

        The Cabinet approved on 29th September 2020 the residence visa extension for foreigners remaining in Thailand until the COVID-19 situation improves. The details are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. \n

          The Immigration Bureau extends the deadline for foreigners to comply with the Article 35 and the Article 37 (5) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 and other related laws by 31st October 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        2. \n

          The residence visa for foreigners stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Interior (revision 3) dated 23rd July 2020 has been extended from 27th September 2020 to 31st October 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        3. \n

          The required notification of residence by foreigners as stated by the same announcement in (2) has been extended from 27th September 2020 to 31st October 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

           <\/span><\/p>\n

          This is immediately effective.<\/span><\/p>\n
