14 December 2020, Bangkok: TCEB unveils the success of \u201cThailand
\na Safer Place for Meetings\u201d campaign aiming to stimulate domestic MICE market.
\nOver 1,000 events were held with more than 62,000 attendants and generated
\nincome of 130 million baht or six times higher than the budget provided to
\nsupport the events. <\/o_p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President
\nof Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB<\/span><\/b>, disclosed that the \u201cThailand
\na Safer Place for Meetings\u201d campaign was developed to encourage and attract the
\nprivate sector to hold domestic meetings and incentive travel so that their
\nevent can help create employment and income distribution across all regions
\nand, thus, driving the Thai economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it is
\nclear that the results are extremely satisfactory. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Running from July 1 until October 20, the campaign
\nattracted a total of 1,049 events groups with 62,555 attendants. The events
\nwere located in 50 provinces, generating around 130 million baht of income. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Out of 6 categories of supported events, seminar has
\nthe highest percentage at 35% with a total 315 events, followed by 246 corporate
\nmeetings accounting for 27%; 127 company excursions representing 14%; 94 employee
\nrelation events standing at 10%; CSR activities 9% or 81 events, and 4%
\nincentives or 33 events.  <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Taking into account the 7 Magnificent MICE Themes of

\nfrom 31 activities, whereas luxury theme accounts for 4% from 23 activities.
\nEvents highlighting Thai cuisine theme represent 2% or 11 events, while

\nprovided, we have found that despite COVID-19 impacts on businesses, most
\norganisations prioritise meetings, seminars, as well as events that promote
\nteam. Therefore, domestic MICE promotion is another key step that helps drive
\ndomestic economy and distribute income to the regions and local community
\nlevel. It is expected that in the 2021, MICE market will expand around 3.5%,
\nwith 10 million domestic MICE travellers, generating over 30,000 million baht
