26<\/span> October 2020\/ Thailand Convention &
\nExhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched the third edition of \u2018Thailand MICE
\nStartup\u2019 pairing startups or tech entrepreneurs with MICE entrepreneurs to compete
\nfor the best innovation for the MICE industry aimed at uplifting Thailand\u2019s post-COVID-19
\ncompetitiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n

According
\nto Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya TCEB\u2019s President, the third edition of
\n\u2018Thailand MICE Startup\u2019 has received an impressive interest with as many as 23 applicants.
\nThey are required to form a team to develop innovations or solutions that can
\naddress the pain points, especially those faced by MICE entrepreneurs during
\nCOVID-19 infection. Each startup or tech entrepreneur is required to partner
\nwith MICE entrepreneur to ensure the practicalities of those innovations.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The judge
\ncommittee has now selected five teams for the final round of competition.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

 \u201cWe are excited to see the works of several
\nteams. They have been trying hard to find solutions to a variety of pain points
\nparticularly those resulting from COVID-19\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The
\ninfection has brought about new \u201cpain points\u201d as event organisers adopt hybrid
\nformats and find themselves in unfamiliar territory. Some are recurring
\nchallenges, such as crowd management and tracking delegate engagement, while
\nothers are familiar functionalities ready for adaptation for MICE, such as
\nride-sharing to minimise congestion on the way to events.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore,
\nthe judging criteria include return-on-investment for MICE entrepreneurs,
\nimpact on the MICE industry, effectiveness in addressing new normal challenges,
\nability to foster collaboration between MICE entrepreneurs and startups, and
\npractical considerations.  <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

With
\nsupport from Thailand\u2019s National Innovation Agency (NIA), Digital Economy
\nPromotion Agency (DEPA), and the National Science and Technology Development
\nAgency (NSTDA), TCEB has structured the \u2018Thailand MICE Startup\u2019 scheme as a
\npitch contest to harness the power of Thailand\u2019s most promising startups.<\/span><\/p>\n

The five
\nfinalists are scheduled to present their working prototype on the DEMO Day on
\nNovember 18, 2020 when only 3 finalists will be judged to win the first, second
\nand third prizes, which carry a cash prize of 400,000 baht, 200,000 baht, and
\n100,000 baht respectively. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nMICE Start-up\u2019 is one among several of TCEB\u2019s technology-focused assistance
\nschemes designed to help Thailand\u2019s MICE entrepreneurs acquire and integrate
